Hi, Anon, and welcome to EmpowHer!

Boy, isn't waiting the worst? Especially when you are trying to become pregnant, the days simply seem to drag by.

Unfortunately, the actual act of conception -- the time it takes for the egg to meet the sperm and for the fertilized egg to travel down the fallopian tubes and implant in the uterus -- is just a process that can't be rushed. If you and I could figure out a test that would tell people they were pregnant as soon as it happened, we would be millionaires!

But let's see what we can figure out for you. With a last period date of May 2 and a cycle of 25 to 26 days, your fertile period was from between May 9 and May 20. The most likely days for you to have become pregnant would have been May 14-15. Is that when you had unprotected sex?

Today is May 27, which means this is Day 25 of your cycle. If you don't start your period today or tomorrow, you're officially late, right?

Be aware that stress and working hard to get pregnant can throw your period off a little. We get questions all the time from women who are several days late and hoping to be pregnant, but their pregnancy tests keep saying negative, and then their period arrives even two weeks late. So be patient. You should be able to test with a home pregnancy test later this week. HPTs measure a hormone called HCG for short, which is the pregnancy hormone. Some tests measure it as soon as a day after your missed period, but they are not always accurate when you test that early.

As far as early pregnancy signs go:

-- tender breasts or nipples (in a different way than from PMS)
-- fatigue that's unusual for you
-- slight bleeding or cramping
-- nausea
-- food aversions or cravings

Here is the Mayo Clinic's page on the things that happen right away in pregnancy:

Good Luck! And please come back and update us!!
