I am experiencing menopause and have noticed that I am gaining some weight in my mid section. I have been conscious of my diet and am eating healthier foods, but it hasn't made much of a difference. How can I get rid of belly fat from menopause?

Hi Anon -

Thanks for your question and for looking for ways to improve your health. You're no doubt aware that too much belly fat is not only unattractive, it's also unhealthy! It damages blood vessels and cells, and has been linked to heart disease and other conditions, including cancer.

In addition to a good diet, you should also consider exercise and lifestyle changes. Mark Dilworth, a personal trainer and athlete, wrote an article for EmpowHER with great tips to help you that's titled How to Burn Off Your Muffin Top.

Check out Mark's article and let us know what you think. And I also hope we hear from other women who've also had "muffin top" challenges and will share their own success stories.

Best,

Pat
