I was diagnosed in the fall with high risk HPV. went to get the Coloscopy and scraping. The DR said it didnt seem I had high rsik, jsut the low risk beacuse i had gential warts. The biopsy and scraping came back normal. as did the follow up Pap 3 mothns later. i go back in 2 months for another pap.
Can a pertson have both types of HPV at the same time?
Doesit go away on it's own or stay dormant?
Does a normal pap mean you don't have HPV anymore? Or that your don't have any pre cancer cells?

Hi Anon

Thanks for your post!

You can have both kinds of HPV because you can be infected more than once.

All your other questions can be answered here: http://www.empowher.com/community/ask/can-hpv-go-away-its-own

It's very positive that your paps are now coming back as normal! But since HPV does not go away, you will have to continue with pap tests though obviously not as often as you will have them the first year post diagnosis.
