I read through lots of post about women having hip pain at night. I started out having hip pain at night while sleeping on my side (both hips). Now both hips are aching constantly and sometimes I will have a "catch" in my sciatic area that takes my breath for a second. The pain is also radiating to my knees occasionally. It is starting to affect my daily activities. I have not started taking Ibuprofen because I don't want to depend on pain relievers. I have tried sleeping with a pillow between my knees to no avail. I have to sleep on my back to get any relief. I was diagnosed to tibial band syndrome and sought PT. That helped the "popping" band but not the hip pain. The two don't seem to be related. I sleep on an orthopedic friendly mattress but have a 10 inch memory foam top on it. Does this sound arthritic in nature? I am not opposed to seeing a chiropractor but have not had good experiences with the only 2 I've ever seen.

A chiroquacker is not the best person to see. I have chronic sciatica from permanent damage done to my ischiadic nerve . In my case, the effects are felt from your hip to your knee, then to the side of your calf, then to the side of your foot,(not just to the knee) making walking difficult.
