Hi Amy Craigie,

Thank you for reaching out to EmpowHER and sharing your question with our community! So sorry to hear you are experiencing pain in your breast and down your right arm. How long have you been experiencing the pain? Is the pain severe or mild?

For some women, it is common to experience breast pain. According to Breast Cancer Care, there are two main types of breast pain: cyclical breast pain and non-cyclical breast pain. Cyclical breast pain mainly affects women before they go through menopause and is linked to changes in hormone levels of the menstrual cycle. The changes in hormone levels makes breast tissue more sensitive, resulting in pain. Pain can occur in the breasts, but can also move down to the arm and armpit.

Non-cyclical breast pain is not linked to the menstrual cycle and can come from something like pulling a muscle in your chest area.

To get the most thorough answer about what is causing your breast pain, I would suggest visiting your doctor. They will be able to examine your breast and arm pain and determine what is causing it and how to relieve it.

I hope this helped! Please keep me updated and let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,
Erin
