Hi mmichele,

In order for the pill to be effective these are the prescribing information according to next choice.

Next Choice® has only 2 tablets:

  • The first one should be taken within
    72 hours (3 days) of having unprotected sex, sexual attack, or a known or suspected contraceptive failure, and a study shows a greater effect when taken sooner1
  • The second one should be taken 12 hours after the first tablet is taken

Hi mmichele,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Anytime you have unprotected sex you are at risk of pregnancy. If you took the next choice pill as instructed, you chances are less. If you are still concern and experience a missed period. You might want to take a home pregnancy test.
