I have been very sucessful the last three years in losing 103 lbs by diet and excerise but since January 08 I was put on beta blockers and have not been able to lose weight. I am eating the same and excerising the same but nothing. Someone told me that beta blockers effect your metobilism. If that is the case is there anything I can do to raise my metoblism to complete the last 30 lbs I want to lose. My weight lose has nothing to do with being skinny. I am 53 years young and I just want to be healthy. I am 5'6 and currently weigh 193 and was wanting to get to 150 lbs. Any advice?

What You Should Know Before You Start A Weight Loss Plan The measurements that count
What do you do for exercise? A daily walk of just 10-20 minutes can help you burns calories, that gradually translates to weight loss for most folks.
As a runner, I know that a walk or run of at least 60 minutes gets me into the real "fat burning zone." But, at age 50-something, I know that losing weight is harder and slower; so, be patient.
Have you had a nutritionist analyze what you're eating? Perhaps your doctor can recommend one to you.
