Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
As long as you take emergency contraception within 72 hours of having sex, it will effectively prevent pregnancy.
If you did not take EC within 72 hours it may not be effective. However, women can only become pregnant during ovulation which occurs about 12-15 days before your period. Since you were probably not ovulating during the time you had sex, chances of pregnancy are very slim.
If you wish you can take a pregnancy test. However, you will need to wait until after a missed or irregular period in order for a pregnancy test to be accurate.
