Hello samanthajohnsonflores25,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about the chances of becoming pregnant after having a tubal ligation.

Do schedule an appointment with your gynecologist. When you call the office, tell the receptionist that you had a period that lasted only 12 hours. You might get an earlier appointment.

Was the bleeding just spotting or a flow that forced you to wear a tampon or pad?

You could take a home pregnancy test in the meantime, or just wait until you see your doctor,
who will probably order blood tests.

A pregnancy following having your tubes tied can happen, but there is always a risk of that being an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy in which the fertilized egg implants outside the uterus.

Keep in touch,
Maryann
