I'm 47 and started spotting and heavy bleeding since February and now it's April 6 and been on my period for 3 weeks

Hi Susan,
You may have a GYN condition that could require minimally invasive treatment. All sorts of things can lead to abnormal bleeding. For example fibroids or adenomyosis. There are surgeries available that can treat in an outpatient setting and have you back to yourself the following week. I think it's a good idea to see a doctor about why your periods are so heavy and ongoing. 

At 47, you may be entering perimenopause or menopause itself which can cause these kinds of menstrual cycles.
