is it normal to go from a regular 28 day cycle to a 21 day cycle?

I've always had a normal 28 day cycle, then about 3 months ago, it came a week early and has, since then, consistently been a 21 day cycle... is this normal?

Hi Anon

Thanks for your question!

The average cycle can range from 21 days to 35 days so you are still falling within average range even though it's very annoying getting your period every three weeks instead of four.

Our bodies and body chemistry changes as we grow or get older and this may be one of the changes you are seeing. A regular cycle can change for unknown reasons but still be normal/healthy.

If you have further concerns, call your doctor.

Thanks for writing!
