I've heard that nearly 100% of all people with cancer have low thyroid function. Has research been done to correlate the two?

Hey anon, we posed your question to Dr. Theo Friedmann who responded by saying "No that is not true. Some patients who are very ill have what is called sick euthryoid, with low freet4, freet3 and nl tsh. Its not clear if these people need thryoid meds or not. A patient who got radiation to their neck for their cancer will likely have thryoid problems."

Does that help?
