Milky white vaginal discharge

Earlier today I had a clear discharge that just gushed out and this evening I open my legs and what looked like milk came out. I have never seen anything like it before. What does this mean? Am I pregnant? Am I ovulating? Or is this my vagina's way of cleaning itself? Neither discharge had a smell. My menstrual cycle was just last week and was cut short. I have also been having these short moments of feeling like I am going to start on my cycle as well. Any suggestions about what is going on with my body?

I've been experiencing the same for the past few weeks....a white milky discharge no smell no itching, I ve had yeast infections before and I tried to use monistat and it is still there. I saw you said I could be ovulating. and now this worries me I have had my tubes tied over 14 years ago could this mean they grew back and I could possibly get pregnant.

Hi Anon,

Having milky white discharge does not necessarily mean that you are ovulating. In women who have not had their tubed tied, this is a very common reason for the discharge. You also mention that it has been going on for a few weeks which probably means that this is not ovulation discharge. A sudden increase in the amount of discharge you experience may warrant a visit to your gynecologist to determine the cause.
An abnormal odor or consistency of the fluid, or pain, itching, or burning that accompanies vaginal discharge can also be signs of infection or other more serious disorders.

I'm a 16 year old girl and I'm sexually active.
I woke up this morning and I got a similar thing, i started gushing a milky discharge, it wasn't thick and clumpy. It was thin and leaked through my underwear. It didn't smell and i've never experienced this before. I'm only 16 so i'm afraid to tell my parents or boyfriend or even go to the doctors. Theres nobody i can tell. Please help! What do you think this is, is it normal for someone my age?

Hi. I have a situation that is difficult to explain it all so I'll start with this what type of infection goes along with having a tampoon left in you for 2 years or more without anyone figuring it out. I think I mean what tests should a gyno do when a person comes in with this type of situation. I'm wondering if this gardella may be one and how many of you ladies use tampax that have the gardenella maybe that is a factor. and when i go in i do have a right to request testing don't I? no matter if they don't think i have say a staph infection.

Hi,
I am having a difficult time understanding how you would have a tampon inside your vagina for two or more years? I am not sure how old you are, but in those two years...did you try to use another tampon, have sexual intercourse (or any penetrative sexual activities) or go to the gynecologist for exams?

Gardella is a vaccine, not a type of infection.

What symptoms are you having, that you are needing to know what to talk to your doctor about? You would not need to know what type of test to request--that is the doctor's job to determine based on your symptoms. There is no "thinking" if you have a staph infection or not; there are specific symptoms with infections, and if your doctor determines that you do not have a staph infection, you might have another type of infection or condition.

Can you tell us what your symptoms are, so we can help you better prepare to talk with the doctor?

When did you discover the tampon that you forgot about?

She meant to type gardernella, which is the diagnosis I was also given for all of the same symptoms. It seems to be something that never goes away and is associated with your body making to much good bacteria.

I'm 19 and have been sexually active with my fiancé for the past 8 months, before him, I had slept with my ex one time and before that was over a year. Anyway, I have not been sexually active in about 3 weeks as my fiancé is currently incarcerated until the middle of next month. When I was sexually active with him, sometimes I would experience light discharge randomly, it was never too concerning to me, and sometimes it would be mixed with semen after sex. His semen hasn't really liked to stay where it was since my first pregnancy and miscarriage in December 2010, which makes it difficult when trying again.

Right before he was incarcerated, my doctor explained to me pseudocyesis, or false pregnancy, which from my understanding occurs sometimes after a miscarriage and sometimes for other reasons. I had the symptoms of a pregnancy, including a positive test, but one issue: I wasn't pregnant. My understanding of this is that your hormones become out of whack and convince your body you're pregnant when you're not. Fortunately , my case wasn't as severe as some doctors have seen. Truthfully, I'd rather be told, as devastating as both scenarios are, that I had a "false pregnancy" instead of a miscarriage.

Since my miscarriage, almost 5 months ago I've been experiencing a mild amount of discharge, but since my fiancé has been away, I have not been sexually active in about 3 weeks and this discharge has recently gone from mild to excessive. No itching, no burning, no warnings of when it may happen, but multiple times in a day I find milky white discharge in my underwear and in the past 3 days alone, I have felt like I've wet myself, only to discover excessive amounts of discharge pouring out, menstrual like as many women have described. As I'm in the process of moving and doing a lot of back and forth greyhound traveling 2 hours away from home, pads are not always available, and o prefer tampons when menstruating, sometimes I grab for the closest thing, toilet paper or a paper towel so as not to ruin my underwear. One pair of underwear in particular, black ones, now appear to have a "bleach stain" because of this. This has never happened to me before and I am worried. As if I'm not stressed enough.

My last period was a little over 2 weeks ago and was normal in the beginning, but got really light by day two and I did not comPlete my usual 5 day period. I'm growing concerned, can anyone shed some light on this please?
