Moved to a new state and my mind has been all over. My last two pill packs I've been playing catchup and on the second one I stopped taking on tuesday the third week, waited a week, started back up, got to day two and then missed 3 in a row. Had unprotected sex w ejaculation the first night of missed pill. What are the chances for pregnancy? I have been on the pill for 13 years.

Guide

Hello Olives0012,

When you miss more than 2 birth control pills, you need to call your health care provider for instructions. Those instructions may be to take one pill daily until Sunday and then start a new pack or to discard the rest of the pill pack and start over with a new pack that same day.

Any time you forget to take a pill, you must use another form of birth control until you finish the pill pack. When you forget to take a birth control pill, you increase the chance of releasing an egg from your ovary. This increases your chance of getting pregnant.

However, if you forgot to take the inactive or placebo pills, you did not raise your chance of pregnancy because these pills contain only inactive ingredients.

You may want to test for pregnancy. A urine test can detect hCG levels as early as 12 to 14 days following conception. Calculate about two weeks from the day you had unprotected sex and test.
