My daughter has had right ear pain off an on for 3 weeks. It pops up sudden and brings her to tears. This is her only symptom, so what could it be?

Thank you for writing.

We don't have a lot of information about pediatric health care but some young children are prone to ear infections, especially middle ear infections. If she is very young, she could have lodged something in her ear - have you taken a look? If not, her doctor can perform an exam.
