Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER.
If your friend was recently diagnosed with Hepatitis B, is he under the care of a doctor? What have they told him about medications and what symptoms to expect that may need to be treated?
Here is more information about the condition:
Hope it helps.

Anonymous, hepatitis often doesn't cause symptoms until it is very bad. It can clear on it's own, meaning your body gets rid of it, or it can become chronic and make you very ill.

It is important for you friend to do what the doctor says and take any medications the doctor prescribes. It is also very important to take care not to spread the hepatitis to anyone else. We have a section on this: http://www.empowher.com/condition/hepatitis-b/definition.

Thanks for writing. I hope this helps.
