Hi Anonymous
At 38 you may be experiencing perimenopause, which can change your menstrual cycles due to declining hormone levels and make it difficult to become pregnant as well.
Have you spoken with your ob/gyne about this? Or about attempting pregnancy? It can be much more difficult to become pregnant once you are over 35, and the risk of birth defects rises as well. It may be a good idea to have an appointment for a pelvic exam as well as perimenopausal blood work to see where your hormone levels are. Then your provider can assist you in figuring out the best way for you to attempt pregnancy. They may suggest hormone supplementation or other ideas.
We have information on pregnancy at 40, and you are close so this would apply to you: https://www.empowher.com/providers/article/having-baby-40. Good luck to you and if we can help further, please let us know.
