Post partum recovery

I just had a baby 41/2 weeks ago vaginaly. Since delivery I continie to have a minstralcycle on and off. I have some really sharp pains at times that come and go. Sometimes when I sit I hurts and my pubic bones still feel like they are going to break. Is this something to be conserned about?

Pain in the pubic area can take a few weeks to even a couple of months to end. A vaginal birth can be quite traumatic for a woman's body, especially the pelvic reason, obviously. You may have actually fractured something in childbirth - that's not unheard of. If the pain is really bad, call your doctor now rather than wait for your 6 week check up.

With regard to bleeding, - this is not menstrual bleeding (in terms of a period). This is post-partum bleeding. Some women only have it for a week or two, other have it for months. I had it for 8-10 weeks with all three of my children. It's normal to still have this bleeding after 4 weeks.
