I have never had cramps before my period and the last time I had sex it was a few days before ovulation.

You would suspect an ectopic pregnancy if you are having the sympoms which I listed in the above post.

Guide

The days prior to and during ovulation are the most fertile time of a woman's menstrual cycle. I am concerned that the new onset of severe cramping may be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. Call your physician immediately if the cramps persist and you experience abnormal vaginal bleeding, miss your period or have low back pain and nausea.
