Q:

Should I be worried about getting pregnant?

I have been on the pill for about 6 months and I had sex on the first day of my blank pills this month (just over a week ago). I forgot to refill my prescription before the holiday weekend, so now I am going 3 days without the pill (starting with the first day of the first week) because that is when my pharmacy and healthcare provider are back in the office. Should I be worried about getting pregnant?

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Anytime you missed a pill and have unprotected sex, your chances are higher of becoming pregnant.  It's important to used another type of protection such as condoms to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.

Best,

Daisy
