I had unprotected sex on July 6th. We only did it for about 5 seconds ( he can never keep it up). Anyway, I'm pretty sure he never ejaculated. I also bled right after but stopped. On July 8th, I took Next Choice as directed. On July 16th I think I got my regular period. It was very heavy and heavy and I had to use both pads and tampons and change them every 2 hours. On July 26th I finally stopped bleeding. But I also took 2 pregnancy tests a couple of days ago, the second one only cause I wasn't sure if I did it right. I don't feel like I have any signs of earlypregnancy but I keep feeling my breasts to make sure. I haven't had a regular period and would normally bleed for months on end. I went to the doctor for it but they ruled it out as stress. I did miss an entire period im September and when I tested then it was negative and eventually got my period. Can you please tell me when I can accurately take a pregnancy test? I'm really worried and its all I can think about.

Hi Anon,
Next Choice and all of the other emergency contraceptives cause a change in your period which is why you experienced a very heavy period on July 16. Any time after that, a pregnancy test would be accurate. So if you took the tests a couple of days ago, then you are not pregnant. It's not very common to get pregnant if the man does not ejaculate-- but it was very wise of you to take added precaution with Next Choice.
However, I don't necessarily think that these signs of pregnancy that you may be feeling are all attributed to stress. Keep in mind that you took Next Choice, which is a medication and side effects include: nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, headache, dizziness, breast tenderness, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Please try to relax and stop thinking about the possibility of being pregnant--you have tested negative and had a period which both mean you are not pregnant.
Best of luck to you,
Rosa
