My frriend is addicted to methanphetamine and in need of a cardiologist who will work with her. She is being honest with the doctors about her addiction and they are turning her away. what does she do? Lie? Help.

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your question and advocating for your friend's health. Being honest is admirable, however, meth use is a known detriment to cardiac (heart) health. Has she been treated for her addiction? Would she look into being treated? I understand any doctor who would treat her for heart problems would weigh heavily upon your friend that continued use of meth will cause continued heart problems.

Here too is a thread from the EmpowHER Addiction Group that may be beneficial for your friend: Addiction Group and Resources to Get Help. They may be able to help your friend advocate for her health in regard to the addiction and her heart condition.
Good luck and let us know what happens.
