Hello everyone, I recently had an emergency hysterectomy & I am not doing well. I looked at my. Pathology report & when I asked for it to be explained, I feel my question was dodged. If anyone could help put my mind at ease I'd really appreciate it.

The diagnosis was:
Total uterus
Basalis endometrium(I get)
Reactive squamous metaplasia & chronic cerviciti (I get)
?hyalinized slightly decidualized spiral arteries? (Don't understand )

Mechanical destortion of uterine fundus. (I get)
If u had something similar & could explain this to me I'd be so very grateful

Hi Mel00,

Thank you for your question. Hyaline is just a term used to describe the appearance of your tissue and in this case it would be "glass-like" adding decidualized spiral arteries is another term to describe appearance which would be consistent with the appearance while you are ovulating. So in essence, removing the tissue, doctors would explain your tissues appearance as glass like and ovulation time.

Hope this helps,

Missie
