what does it mean when you have really painful cramps & bleed a little then start spotting?

I was suppose to get my period on the 29th of september but on the 27th of september I experienced the worst cramps in my life & I was bleeding very light & later in the day I was getting brown stuff & everything just stopped coming out. I also had unprotected sex on the 24th of september. I never got my period, I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago & it came out negative. Does somebody know what's going on? Please help me ladies..

Hi Helen,

Sometimes stress and not taking your birth control pills as directed can cause a change in your period. Wait for your period to arrive and, to be safe, take another pregnancy test if it does not arrive within a week.
