I have Thyroids and i've been watching what i eat. I workout at lease 1 1/2 hours 5 days a week yet I have a belly that will not go away. I've been hearing about body cleansing helps with belly fat but i'm not sure which one is best for my Thyroids.

Hi Anon,

Thanks for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! That is great that you remain so active and make sure you get in fitness every day.

Although total body cleanses are one way to help remove belly fat, they are not always the safest option. I would suggest adjusting your diet and eating certain foods to help with your thyroid health. Try eating more whole and real foods. Foods that are whole and real is more natural, has no added sugars, isn't processed, and is much healthier for the body. Try eating more natural foods like vegetables, fruit, wild salmon, nuts and grains. Adjusting your diet and incorporating more healthy foods is good for your overall health and can also help with belly fat.

Thyroids help regulate metabolism, and when you have a thyroid condition, it is often much more difficult to get rid of belly fat. However, exercise and a healthy diet can help reduce some belly fat. When eating, try avoiding processed foods, excessive carbohydrates and foods with a lot of sugar. These kinds of foods can add more belly fat and make it difficult to get rid of.

I would also suggest talking to your doctor or a certified dietician about what foods would be best to eat with a thyroid condition. They can help make your diet the healthiest for you based off your condition.

I hope this helped! Please let me know if you have any other questions and keep us update. :)

Best,
Erin
