Thanks for your question! 

The current rate of survival in the West African countries dealing with an ebola outbreak is about 40% which is very good (relatively speaking) since the rate can be a lot lower in places that do not know about ebola or the symptoms to look out for. People have died of ebola without knowing they have it. 

Medics are being allowed in now to many villages who tried to stop them, believing the medics were the ones who were spreading the disease.
