What is Wolff Parkinson White Sydrome? I've been told I have it but don't understand anything about it.

What are the signs and symptoms and treatment for it? I don't mean to sound so dumb but I've been wondering what they, the doctors, were talking about.

I had WPW Syndrome and it went undiagnosed for a long time. I was trying to get answers for all the crazy things that my heart would do but it was often brushed off as stress or anxiety which is common for a Dr. to diagnose in a woman. If you truly have been diagnosed with WPW Syndrome you need to find a good Cardiologist that specializes in Electrophysiology. I had a Cardiac Ablation done and it was successful! I would highly recommend getting it done by a good Cardiologist. If you live in AZ I can recommend one to you. I had a horrific SVT episode where my heart was beating 276 beats a minute. It was horrible and you don't want to put yourself at risk for having those where you can't get help. Have the ablation done and it will be cured. I had an abnormal EKG my whole life, and now have a normal one. Don't let fear keep you from going forward and getting the good care you need. All women need to protect their hearts for their own sakes and for those that love them!

I had a patient in my clinical practice with WPW syndrome whose symptoms resolved completely with the use of a nutritional and herbal treatment. It included magnesium supplementation; l-carnitine; coenzyme Q10; and hawthorne berry (crataegus) extract. Some holistic doctors might add l-Taurine to this protocol.
Of course, it's best to find a licensed holistically-oriented practitioner, like a naturopathic doctor (N.D.) to work with you to implement such a plan, and as far as possible to do this in concert with your cardiologist.
The medical treatment for this condition is ablation, which essentially means destroying part of your heart muscle with a laser, which stops the symptoms, but in many cases the problem keeps recurring and multiple procedures are necessary.
At the same time, it doesn't hurt to do what you can to get a handle on your stress level if you feel that is having an impact in your life: http://www.pmscomfort.com/pms-pmdd-symptoms/pms-pmdd-stress-feeling-out-of-control-overwhelmed.aspx

Best of luck with this!
