ask: why do they say that it's contraindicated to take a bath for patients with measles?

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your question, and for finding EmpowHER. I have heard that it's not a good idea to take a bath when you have measles because it allegedly can make the rash spread faster. But that may be an old wive's tale. Did your doctor recommend this? If not, you may want to ask this question of your doctor to alleviate confusion.
