Will I get pregnant?

So, me and my boyfriend were messing around on the 3rd day of my period. I had my period on the 26th of december , so we were messing around on the 29th. My boyfriend told me that he didn't ejaculate, but I've read on the internet that there might be a possible pre-cm that got into my vagina (we weren't sure either our genital got in contact or not but we're SURE that there is no penetration). But I started freaking out and the next day we went to the pharmacy to buy the emergency contraception (postinor 2) and had it within 24 hours (around 22 hours). I have a regular cycle between 26-28 days, statistically I shouldn't be pregnant but i'm really scared! And also i didn't get any of the side effects described in the emergency contraception package but i do get a lot of burping. Someone pls help? Will i get pregnant? I'm really really not ready for this.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to us with your concern.

You were not at risk for becoming pregnant because you were having your period.

To become pregnant, there must be a released mature egg (happens when you ovulate) waiting to be fertilized by sperm (which happens with penetration and ejaculation).

Pre ejaculate fluid itself does not contain sperm. If your boyfriend had a prior but recent ejaculation, sperm could remain in his urethra, which is a tube that urine and semen pass through. Once he urinated, any sperm was flushed out.

Be aware that one side effect is a change in the menstrual cycle. Your next monthly period could start earlier or later than expected. Flow might be lighter or heavier than normal.

Regards,
Maryann
