Linda:
It was scary the night before. You don’t really feel anything; well, you don’t feel anything during. Afterwards, it’s not painful; there’s an odd feeling, just a bit uncomfortable for the first maybe week until they take the staples out. Afterwards, just common sense and being careful. It’s not really painful. I didn’t use any of the pain medication they gave us for afterwards, and it was fine.
I woke up in the medical center. I spent two nights there. The afternoon of the third day I was discharged to go home. I basically spent that day and maybe a portion of the next day in bed. You are supposed to get up and walk around a little which was fine. I didn’t have any problems with that. A total recovery, total uncomfortable portion of the post-surgery is, like I said, approximately a week, until you get your staples taken out because you have to be careful with that. But besides that, really, I mean I would say the downtime at most is until you get your staples out, and that would be five days to a week.
