A friend was asking Michelle King Robson today "Can you tell me what is the lowest, moderate in activity, bean." Michelle turned to Lyn-Genet Recitas, an expert on inflammatory foods, who has helped Michelle greatly with adjusting her diet to her body.
Here is Lyn's response: "Chickpeas are lowest (but not a strong protein choice) Then pinto, pink, split pea and lentil. After that it's a hot mess.
If she's looking for a veg source of protein hemp seeds are AMAZING and freakishly tasty 3 tbsp has 11 grams of protein- 50% phosphorus and magensium, 25% zinc and 15% iron. Tastes a little like a cross between cheese and couscous with a slight nutty flavor. You can order online from Amazon- Nutiva is my fave brand.
Beans even if friendly will impair digestion if eaten more than once a day. Beans and grain are usually reactive but you don't need to have at the same meal for it to form a complete protein (you have 36 hrs). So maybe have rice at lunch for good carb energy and beans for dinner."
