What Is Glucagon - Glucagon In Women - Hormone Glucagon

Glucagon is a protein hormone produced primarily by the pancreas. It promotes an increase in the sugar (glucose) level of the blood by increasing the rate of breakdown of glycogen in the liver. Glucagon is also called hyperglycemic factor. When someone with diabetes has a very low blood glucose level, a glucagon injection can help raise the blood glucose quickly.
