(HealthDay News) -- Tranexamic acid (Lysteda) has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as the first non-hormonal drug to treat heavy menstrual bleeding, a medical condition called menorrhagia. It works to stabilize a protein that helps blood clot.
