Recognize the signs: Pneumonia cases on the rise in H1N1 swine flu complications

You may have heard reports this week that the number of new cases of H1N1 flu has leveled off. That’s good news, though it may bring a false sense of security. This is one of the busiest travel and shopping weekends of the year, and it wouldn’t be surprising if a new round of contagion began as millions of people board airplanes, trains and buses for Thanksgiving visits, or as they crowd shopping malls for holiday bargains.

But the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta want you to be concerned about something else as well: pneumonia. This week they linked the H1N1 epidemic to a sharp rise in severe bacterial infections.

What is Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is a lung infection that affects 3 million people in the United States annually, and from which 5% of those diagnosed will die annually. It is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States - particularly among seniors and people with chronic medical conditions.

Mary Schnack: Advocating For Ones Health

This was my fifth surgery for cancer and I’ve had at least two other surgeries. After each surgery, it is really hard for me to clear my head of the anesthesia. I feel “foggy” for 1-2 months after the surgeries. It’s hard for me to read or concentrate. I definitely can not read books, but can read magazines and newspapers in short spurts.

why do doctors misdiagnose phenmonia and bronchitis and assume its sinus infection without proper testing

I have had numerous friends suffering from upper respitory bronchitas or phenmonia symptoms but the doctor has diagnosed "sinus infection". Even after weeks of antibiotics nothing works.
