Social Worker Darby Morhardt discusses the causes of Lewy body Dementia.

Those are the questions that we are all trying to figure out, and that’s what those, the research centers are all about, is trying to figure out what is causing them.

We are learning more about what’s happening inside the brain of people with Lewy body Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease or frontotemporal. We are learning what’s going on, which is the first step to maybe understanding what the cause is.

Darby Morhardt is a research associate professor, the Director of Education, and a clinical research social worker at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Her research interests include early stage and Younger Onset dementia programs and services, the dynamics and functioning of caregiving families, the subjective experience of Alzheimer's disease, and primary care physician education.
