I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary for my RNY , Aug 10, 2009 was my RNY date.

So far I'm down 221 lbs , plateauing at 191-194 lbs and feeling great.
How about everyone else?

Hi - I started a reply but it kind of disappeared - hope it doesn't repeat itself somehow later on.

I had a RNY 8 years ago, 93 pounds now. Good for you for taking the plunge to do something good for yourselves!

Hi All! Just going to start my journey. I am a little nervous. I did join support group at Hospital and they meet 2x a month. My surgery is on Tues, May 29 next week. I am 254 lbs now. My highest was 280. I lost 50 lbs years ago with gym and water aerobics classes. For the last 5 years the weight has been creeping up due to major falls/accidents not getting to the gym/pool and eating for comfort. I am too heavy for my legs(just out of a cast on left ankle/plate, screws placed) and walking with a walker gingerly, lol. Doctors said I need bilateral knee replacements years ago but I feel I have had enough of metal and surgery to last me a life time. I pray this bariactric (Bypass) proceedure is my last!

Hi ladysings

Good luck with your surgery; and take things slowly. Let us know how things are going for you after your surgery. Getting back into the pool will be a great step for you, when you're ready. It's an excellent exercise for those with joint pain and difficulty moving.

We'll be keeping you in our thoughts!

Susan
