Right Exercise for My Body

By HERWriter Blogger June 23, 2011 - 1:19pm

I try to weight train 2 to 3 times a week focusing on different areas of my body. I've read many different things about lifting only 1 muscle group at a time, such as, back/bi or chest/tri. Is it OK to do a full upper-body workout once or twice a week? I don't see the harm in it especially because I do low weight and high reps, but I could be wrong.

Hi Amylynn1003

Thanks for your question!

Depending on what results you're looking for, you can work with weights several times a week but according to many personal trainers, two days a week is adequate.

It might be a good idea to hire a personal trainer for an hour to evaluate your needs and work out a program that suits. But you won't go wrong with 2-3 times a week.
