OK, I have to get back to work and get stuff done before I have to go pick up my boys from daycare.
I can relate.
I was a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling in fact, when my kids were little. Didn't lessen the tendency to guilt one iota.
In fact, now I could be guilty of causing any and all traumas, neuroses, bad habits and low self-esteem in my kids.
Being almost 55, and the "baby" now being 20 yrs old and the oldest being 28, is an enormous help. I may be guilty of having ruined all their lives but ... most of them are not here as a constant reminder anymore. :) And, actually, they've turned out better than my Mom guilt would ever have believed possible.:)

HA! That's reassuring, Jody. Thanks. :)
September 13, 2010 - 11:53amI love it when my son looks at me and tells me he's ""really, really mad at me," and pouts, because I've corrected him on something (probably for hitting his brother, or the dog).
I've tried to reply in a sing-song-y voice, "I hope you get over it soon, because I really, really love you!" I'm positive it bugs him, but I figure it's better than screaming back at him.
