I love this time of year! The Farmer's Markets are open and we can now get more fresh,local produce.
To me, summer is truly here when strawberry season has begun. My oldest son loves making smoothies with fresh strawberries. This is his recipe, which he can practically make blind-folded!
Yummy Strawberry Banana Smoothie:
1 organic banana
1 cup of fresh local strawberries
3/4 cup of goat's milk (or whatever type of milk or liquid you would like to use as your base)
1/2 cup of organic vanilla yogurt (optional)
Add all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. For an extra healthy kick, you can also add extra probiotics, ground flax seed, hemp seeds, protein powder and/or baby spinach.
