After years of letter writing, e-mail sending, and legislative office visits, yesterday, without much hand-wringing or fanfare, the federal tobacco tax was increased by 62 cents per pack!
This is great news - as we know when tobacco tax increases:
* adults quit smoking
* children don’t start
* millions of lives will be saved due to a reduction in smoking related deaths.
