Magnetic Resonance Guided Focused Ultrasound For Fibroids, Who Is A Good Candidate? - Dr. LeBlang (VIDEO)

May 20, 2009 - 1:53pm 450 reads 0 comments

Dr. LeBlang describes the best candidate for a Magnetic Resonance (MR) guided Focused Ultrasound procedure for uterine fibroids.

Dr. LeBlang:
The MRI scans help decide whether or not you are a good candidate for the MR guided Focused Ultrasound procedure, and there are lots of different criteria that go into whether or not you are a good candidate.

Some of the criteria are, that you should have less than five fibroids. They need to be easily accessible to the ultrasound beam, and also the color of the fibroids on the MRI scan is important. They should be darker on a T2 image and also enhanced with contrast.

About Dr. LeBlang, M.D.:
Dr. Suzanne LeBlang, M.D., specializes in MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) applications. She is an American trained and Board Certified radiologist with an added certification in neuroradiology.
