Going for a Walk with Lung Cancer

October 20, 2009 - 7:47am 189 reads 1 comments

Another day of nausea…it seems to be the norm now. At least I was finally able to go to the bathroom. I have been in a constant state of constipation for the past few days and I was starting to get a little worried.

I finally spoke with the scheduler and got my schedule for the upcoming week. Tomorrow I go to CTCA to have follow up meetings with all of the docs and possibly get my lupron shot (fertility) and zometa (bone strengthening). Thursday I will go in for my third round of taxotere and erbitux chemo. I am praying that I won’t be so sick and my hair loss will slow down. It’s kind of at the in between phase where it’s too much to shave it off, but almost not enough to wear down. I have been wearing it up in a ponytail which seems to help disguise it a little.

Today I reinstated my membership to the Village! I am not really supposed to be “working out”, but I figure just going and sitting on the exercise bike or walking on the treadmill and stretching can’t be that bad. Tonight I went for a walk with Whitney around the block. This is the second time (yesterday was the first) that I have gone on a walk since the horrible 7-11 incident with Laura and Robert.

Hi Melissa - Thanks for taking time out to give us an update. It was so good to hear that you were out walking, even if only around the block. I'm glad you rejoined the Village - even just hanging out with other people who care about you can be helpful. The up and down days can be wearing in many ways, but your continued efforts to keep going forward are inspiring. Keep in touch, and take good care.
