I am a prediabetic. My mom was a type 1 diabetic. I watched her die of complications from the disease. I had gestational diabetes. In 2003 at age 41, when I started making (and eating) my own chocolate truffles I discovered that my blood sugars were higher than normal. Fortunately, they were not high enough to be a diabetic. Fear was my motivation to a new lifestyle. Through healthy eating and exercising I can keep my blood sugar levels in the normal range.
So inspired by my own success I became a holistic nutritionist so I could help other women that are at risk for diabetes.
