Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! One time use of unwanted 72 will not cause infertility. However, frequent consumption of these emergency pills can have non-reversible impact on your reproductive system. To be more precise, repeated usage of these pills may cause long term side effects such as menstrual problems and ovarian damage.

15 pills in one year seems far excessive to me and wonder why you wouldn't have just gone on the pill or used a condom? Do you know how powerful these emergency contraception pills can be?

You will need to go to your OBGYN to have him or her check for any damage that these pills could have caused. You might not be able to get pregnant, or at least not easily considering you took your last one on May 29th and have taken 15 in one year.

I highly suggest that you and your partner schedule and exam with your OBGYN to make sure you are healthy enough to get pregnant and carry a baby.

Here is some more information about the side effects of emergency contraception https://www.empowher.com/community/ask/what-are-side-effects-emergency-contraceptives-such-plan-b-and-next-choice

Anon, will you call your OB right away to discuss your situation?

Best,

Kristin
