Am I pregnant?

Hi, ok, I'm gonna have an anxiety attack.
So, basically, my boyfriend and I have sex every now and then. But we NEVER have unprotected sex. We are too young and financially unstable for any little surprises, so we are very careful. But the thing is, Im extremely late for my period. My period was sometime late September, and my last one was late October. The last time I indulged in sexual intercourse, was around a month ago. My period is three weeks late. When I missed the date I was supposed to get it, I figured I was just late, so I waited. However, now that it's been three whole weeks since it should have happened, I'm panicking. I have had abdominal pains and bloating, along with dizziness occasionally. I'm working on changing my diet to see if that helps. Also I have yet to take a home test, since I am unable to afford a doctor visit. Am I pregnant, even though we are very careful? Please help.

Hello Icomehereforhelp

Thank you for writing.

Stress may be delaying your period (and also cause abdominal distress) and since you are very careful, it's not likely you are pregnant. Take a test to ease your mind - you don't have to go to the doctor to get a pregnancy test, you can find a brand name one (any well known brand will so, you can check with the pharmacist) for $10 and know within a couple minutes of taking the test where you stand.

Best,
Susan
