Birth Control - 47 year old woman

I went to the dr about a month ago to get birth control since I'm not on any and I'm seeing someone who doesn't do condoms and won't have a vasectomy. The dr came in and asked why I wanted birth control and that I don't need to worry about it at my age. I was totally shocked by her response. I also suffer from migraines. She is not my usual doctor since I have now state health insurance. So long story short do I still need to worry about it? I am still having periods.

Guide

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

The short answer is yes.  If you are still having your period every month, you can still become pregnant.  Oral contraceptives are an easy and effective way to prevent pregnancy.
