I am worried right now if i'm pregnant because my boyfriend and i kissed. We only kissed and we didn't do any sexual activity like sex, dry humping or what. When we are kissing, he ejaculated with our clothes on. My jeans got wet on my thigh part. i am afraid if sperm can get through 3 or 4 layers of clothing. Also one situation that adds to my worries is that when i went to comfort room to pee, my underwear got stick to my jeans on the spot where it was soaked by semen, does my underwear absorbed the sperm and get me pregnant? and lastly i touched my bear thigh to check if it got wet due to semen then after that i forgot and i touch my vagina because i am fixing my napkin because i also had a period that time. I did it maybe 20 minutes after he ejaculates. Please answer me. I am freaking right now. please please and explain to me the answer. thanks. i don't know what's the answer because websites give different answers. so please help me.

Hello ann_reyes,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I am glad you reached out to us with your concern about the possibility of becoming pregnant.

There was no risk at all. You were having your period at the time. You were wearing clothes and sperm cannot pass through clothing.

Each month inside your ovaries, a group of eggs starts to grow in small, fluid-filled sacs called follicles. Eventually, one of the eggs erupts from the follicle. This is ovulation. It usually happens about 2 weeks before your next period.

After the egg is released, it moves into the fallopian tube. It stays there for about 24 hours, waiting for a single sperm to fertilize it.

Should you have unprotected vaginal intercourse during the time of ovulation, five days before or on the day of ovulation, you can become pregnant.

If one sperm does make its way into the fallopian tube and burrows into the egg, it fertilizes the egg. The egg changes so that no other sperm can get in.

If no sperm is around to fertilize the egg, it moves through the uterus and disintegrates. Your hormone levels go back to normal. Your body sheds the thick lining of the uterus, and your period starts.

I hope this answers your question and calms your fear.

Regards,
Maryann

Thanks mam. So even if the situation i stated like when ny underwear stick to my jeans it won't get those sperm to inpregnate me? If i touched my vagina with my finger that recently touched the spot on my thigh exactly the same spot where my jeans got wet, uit will not make me pregnant? I'm sorry if my question is so absurd i just want to make things clearer. Thank you so much.

Hello ann_reyes,

You felt your underwear stick to your jeans because of your own vaginal lubrication which can be sticky.

Think of your partner's clothes as a trap that kept the semen containing sperm inside. Yes, there was a wet spot because semen is a thick liquid. The liquid made the wet spot but the contents (semen) stayed inside.

Maryann

Thanks mam. So it means the sperm remain stuck also inside his clothes? He's wearing shorts closer to the textile of a jeans. So no sperm can penetrate through it? Thank you so much mam for easing my fear. Have a good day ahead.

Thanks for making things clear mam. But i have another question. What will happen to sperm on clothing? Is it real that if the sperm landed on clothing, they die? How long do sperm live outside the body? I'm sorry if i'm asking too much question. II just really want to be 100% relieved. Thank you so much.

Hello ann_reyes,

Sperm, which are very tiny cells, live outside the body for about 20 minutes. They are found in semen. Once semen has dried, all sperm are dead.
