Can you get pregnant from missing pills after unprotected sex?

I am a first day starter and missed the first pill of my pack (started a day late) I take Yaz. according to the pill pack, it says missing only one in the first week requires no back up protection. At the end of that first week (The day after the last day of withdrawal bleeding) I had unprotected sex, though my partner withdrew. On Tuesday and Wednesday (the sex was on sunday) I missed my pills, and doubled up on Thursday and Friday. What are the chances of pregancy?

I have been on the pill for almost 4 months now and today i forgot to take my pill at 10:30am like usual and had unprotected sex in which he did cum inside of me i took the pill right after is there any chance of getting pregnant if i keep taking the pill as normal the next day? Or should i double up and take it earlier then normal?

Hi there,
I had intercourse on Friday night, and took my pill. On Saturday, I was sick and vomited my pill up before it had time to absorb. On the Sunday morning, I took another pill and ended up vomiting it too. Is there a chance I am pregnant? I was in the second week of the active pills.

Hi Anonymous,

Sounds more like a virus. Are you still vomiting?

Hello Anonymous,

There should have been no chance of becoming pregnant because you took the missed dose within 12 hours and took Friday's dose on time.

Hello,

I had unprotected sex on Friday and missed taking pill (pill #6 of wk 1). Saturday I took the missed pill (Friday pill) at night around 11. But did not take the Saturday pill. The rest of the month I remained one pill off. Could I be pregnant?

It was a first month I ever started mini pills (cerelle with 12hr gap). Had sex and after 4 days I forgot to take my pill on 10PM as usual, then next morning around 7:30am I took it, however I forgot to take one again on the evening...So NEXT morning I took two pills at time, because I was so terrified to fall pregnant... I kept drinking pills everyday for 2 more weeks eventho I hadnt had sex afterall and now decided to quit. Yet I havent had my period... could I be pregnant??

Hello Anonymous,

Cerelle is a progesterone only pill. It prevents pregnancy by the sperm cells from entering the womb. It does not prevent ovulation like combination pills do.

As long as you took the daily pill on the day you had intercourse, you should have been protected against pregnancy.

Wait for your period. That is the way to know whether or not you are pregnant.

Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

Did you take two pills (missed dose and daily dose) on Friday evening? That is what you should have done.

Hopefully, missing one pill on the day you had intercourse did not trigger ovulation, which could have potentially led to conception.

You will know once you finish your pack of active pills and have withdrawal bleeding.

Maryann
