My boyfriend and I were having sex and the condom broke. We both heard it and he pulled out right away, there was no ejaculation except for his preejaculate most likely. I have also been taking oral contraception and have not missed a pill and have been taking it right on time, give or take 15-30 minutes. Is there a risk of pregnancy in this case?

Great news. It is sometimes funny that when we are concerned about possible pregnancy, then stress over it...once we stop being concerned - our periods start....odd, eh?

Hi Emily,

Thank you for your question and for coming to Empowher for a speedy answer. My opinion is that you have a minimal chance of pregnancy. You are doing the right thing by being protected by the Pill and also by protecting yourself with condoms. Bravo to you, Emily...

You are taking the pill everyday, not missing any pills and I will assume you have been taking them longer than 7 days - you should be safe. There is always that minimal chance as nothing is ever 100% guaranteed but I don't think you need to worry about your incident as it seems as if you did the right thing by stopping immediately.

Was there any other conditions that would make you think that you may have gotten pregnant? When is your period due?

Thanks again for your question.

Thank you very much for your answer :)
My period is due today actually and it's here, there was nothing else that made me concerned that I was pregnant.
