Q:

Condom was put on incorrectly then fixed

I had sex for the first time yesterday, without releasing it was the first day I was ovulating. He put the condom on incorrectly, and then fixed it. I was worried so I have done some research and apparently there is a high chance that I could be/get pregnant, is this true? My local health clinic doesn't open till Monday (I had sex on Friday), so I have no way of accessing the emergency contraceptive pill till then. I'm really worried so any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.

Hi Faith,
Thank you for your speedy reply. I should have been clearer in my question before sorry. I'm worried that there may have been pre-cum on the outside of condom from when he put it on the wrong way round first. If this is the case should I be worried?

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
There are no chances of pregnancy from this scenario because there was no ejaculation and no sperm. Taking emergency contraception is not necessary because there is no chance of pregnancy.

Hi Faith,
thank you for such a quick reply! I should have been more specific in my question sorry, the problem is I think the condom may have had pre-ejaculate on it from when he put it on inside out. This is why I'm so concerned. Is there still no chance of pregnancy (fingers crossed)?

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Pre-ejaculate rarely causes pregnancy. Even if there was pre-ejaculated, there is no guarantee there was healthy sperm in it. Handling the condom would have further damaged any sperm that most likely was not there from the start.
You should also be aware that women can only become pregnant during ovulation which happens about 12-15 days before your period. If you were not ovulating then pregnancy still isn't an option.
